Western Pygmy-Blue
I love this picture of a Western Pygmy-Blue because of the perfect little black hearts on
the wings and the richness of the orange color.  There were countless numbers of these
in late October on Antelope Island.  © Carol Davis 10-26-2016

western pygmy-blue butterfly in Utah
Antelope Island was dripping with tiny Western Pygmy-Blues on this early November day. I have no doubt that this is the Utah's most
prolific
butterfly, bar none. They were all over the bushes, on every part of the island, but particularly heavy on the north end. I had
to be careful
where I stepped because they were also on the ground. They are beautiful and delicate.  © Carol Davis 11-8-2015
