Bee Fly
Genus Lepidanthrax

Lepidanthrax bee fly
Bee Flies can be very gorgeous and easily mistaken for bees. This one from Antelope Island was
exceptionally pretty with its spotted wings and patterned abdomen.  Most of the bee flies in this genus
are
endoparasitoids (defintion by the Amateur Entomologists' Society.) © Carol Davis 8-19-2012
