Bristletail
Order Microcoryphia

The small Bristletail is
found all over the world (24 species in NA alone) and although it seems
a
little creepy, somewhat resembling a silverfish, it is considered
harmless. It
feeds mostly on moss,
lichen and decaying plant matter. I saw my first Bristletail at
Red Butte
Gardens in Salt Lake City,
Utah. This one was on Antelope Island in Davis County,
Utah. © Carol Davis
