Cuckoo Bee
Genus Nomada
Cuckoo Bees are parasites of other bees. According to
Bugguide.net, they "enter the nests of their hosts
when the host is absent and lay their eggs into the wall of the
cell. This Cuckoo Bee was in the
Jordanelle
Dam wetlands in Wasatch County, Utah. © Carol Davis,

This pathetic picture is of the same bee and, blurry though
it may be, it does serve its
purpose and that is to show what the body looks like beneath the wings
(the bee's wings
are in motion). Cuckoo Bees are often mistaken for wasps. ©
