Cuckoo Bee
Genus Triepeolus

triepeolus cuckoo bee
I found this Cuckoo Bee in a place I don't usually look - on a short trail by White Rock Bay on
Antelope
Island.  It just happened to fly in to some isolated sunflowers and I knew instantly that it was
a new
species for me because of the unusual striped pattern on the abdomen.  © Carol Davis 9-27-2015

This article, written by Kathy Keatley Garvey about another Cuckoo Bee (Triepeolus concavus),
provides some information about one particular member of this species of strange,
but beautiful, little bees.  I was ecstatic to find this one (hopefully it will get
narrowed down to species.) © Carol Davis 9-27-2015
