Flower Longhorn Beetle  (two photos)
Stenocorus nubifer

stenocorus
My friend, Ruth Sulik (tutor and magician extraordinaire from Alpine,
Utah), found this Stenocorus nubifer posing in a plant in the North Arm
Viewing Area of Pineview Reservoir. What a gorgeous color on
 this insect! Carol Davis 6-16-2012

Most larval species of the Longhorned Beetles family (Cerambycidae) feed
on dead or decaying wood and some girdle living plants. Adults may
feed on flowers, sap, bark and others may not feed at all (according
 to Bugguide).
