Leafhopper (three photos)
Genus Mesamia straminea
"Golden Leafhopper" (my nickname for them)
I find these beautiful leafhoppers on dwarf sunflowers in
Utah. These were at
Promontory Point. © Carol Davis, 7-11-2010

This is the same leafhopper species in the nymph stage. They
blend in very well with
diseased sunflowers. They can hide in the blackish-brown portion of the
leaves.
I was very lucky to find this one resting on a green leaf. © Carol Davis,

This shows the adult and nymph together on the same diseased
leaf.
