Long-horned
Bee (two photos)
Digger Bee
Genus Melissodes or Tetraloniella

This female Long-horned Bee, found gathering nectar on Antelope
Island on curly-cup gumweed, is very hairy as are all the bees in the
tribe Eucerini. They are named Long-horned
Bees because the males have extra-long antennae. Aren't those eyes
cool? Look at all the
pollen on those legs! © Carol Davis, 7-27-2008
