Long-horned Beetle
"Flower Longhorn"
Etorofus propinquus (changed from Leptura propinqua 2018)

Leptura propinqua
            beetle
I was surprised to find this beetle because I thought it was  a different longhorn
 (
Cosmosalia chrysocoma) but it had two big dots on its back.  I had to search
a bit on Bugguide to find the species.  © Carol Davis 7-27-2017

long-horned beetle
This beetle was feeding alongside the Mirror Lake Highway in Summit
County, Utah.
Oregon State University says the larvae are reared from decaying
coniferous wood. There was
plenty of that in the Uintas.  © Carol Davis 7-27-2017
