Marsh Fly
Genus Dictya

marsh fly
This strange-looking fly preys on snails, slugs and their eggs.  The white face (says Bugguide.net)
and the little white dot on that face, is diagnostic for the Dictya species.  This one flew into my car in
Salt Lake County, Utah, probably because I was feeling "sluggish" (sorry).  © Carol Davis, 4-10-2009
