Bee with Pink Pollen

pink pollen
I've lived many years on this beautiful planet but I never knew
there was pink pollen (the small bee on these tiny, tiny Coriander
or Cilantro flowers is reveling in the stuff).  The leaves and seeds
are useful to both man and bee. When this plant bloomed, I was
surprised at how many bees and wasps used it when there were other
larger flowers near by.  The blooms don't last long and I learned that
you should plant them at intervals throughout the summer to
maintain the blossoms for their tiny visitors. You can learn more
about growing Cilantro at Garden Mentors. You can learn about
pollen sources and colors here on Wikipedia (scroll down
the page for the list).  © Carol Davis 6-30-2018
