Sharpshooter Leafhopper
Genus Cuerna

striped gray leafhopper
This cute little thing was on a cactus in the desert in Washington County,
Utah.  The term Sharpshooter
"refers to their habit of forcing excess
water droplets out of the tip
of the abdomen with an audible popping
noise." (quoted from Bugguide.net) There are many different species
in the Sharpshooter family of leafhoppers.
I wish I could have gotten a
better picture but this tiny guy was too far into the plant.
