Shining
Leaf Chaper (four photos)
Paracotalpa granicollis
"Little Bear"

This is the second "Little Bear" chafer I have found in
Utah. They are hairy little bettles. © Carol Davis,

Chafers feed on fruit trees and this one might have to
fly a ways to find one on Antelope
Island. © Carol Davis,

You have to admit its fuzzy belly would be fun to
pet but if it hung on to you with those claws, it might
be a little difficult to remove. ©

They are referred to as "Little Bear" because of
their "fur". © Carol Davis, 5-5-2011
