Blue Spider Wasp (two photos)
This was an absolutely gorgeous blue, and sometimes turquoise, wasp that was on a little
sunflower plant on Antelope Island, Davis County, Utah. © Carol Davis 9-27-2016
Although it looks like it's on a fried egg, it's actually on an open wound on a sunflower stem.
The way the sun played on the blue of this spider was fascinating. Bugguide recently identified
this as an Evagetes species and you can read more about them here. © Carol Davis 9-27-2016
