Square-headed Wasp
Tribe Crabronini

Square-headed wasps are very beneficial because they dine on flies. Wouldn't you like one
perched on your towel in the summer while you're out suntanning to ward off those
nasty flies? According to The University of Minnesota, Square-headed Wasps can
often  be seen carrying their prey on the end of their stinger. This little wasp of
the tribe Crabronini was living on Antelope Island.  © Carol Davis, 5-31-2009
