Stiletto Fly
Thereva fucata

Thereva fucata in Utah
Pretty Stiletto Fly in rabbitbrush on Antelope Island, Davis County, Utah.  According to Bugguide,
Stiletto Flies species feed on nectar as adults but as larvae they feed on insects in the soil.
The first thing
I noticed about this fly was how much it resembled a Robber Fly.
