Family Pentatomidae

Is that a cute face or what? Stink bug nymphs are some of the most beautiful of insects and even many of
the adults are beautiful. This one has extraordinary markings. I often wonder what goes through their
tiny brains when they view a human for the first time - maybe "Hmm, not many leaves, but a few
branches. Is it edible?" © Carol Davis, 7-3-2012

An artist couldn't have done a better job than what Mother Nature's brush strokes did here. The Jordanelle Dam
wetlands
was the home of this marvelous, albeit destructive, tiny nymph.  © Carol Davis, 7-3-2012
