Parasitic Tachinid Fly
Tribe Voriini
Genus Wagneria or Periscepsia

parasitic Voriini fly
This very small fly caught my attention because it was running around on
my plant like it had just missed the bus.  It was scouring the leaves and then
it would just sit - waiting for prey, maybe?  © Carol Davis 7-5-2017

Voriini fly
Usually a brown fly in the yard is just a boring fly (in my mind) until
something stands out. This little fly stood out and, although the
pictures are crumby, I'm glad I found the little devil. Voriini flies
in the larval stage are usually moth parasites, according
to Bugguide.  © Carol Davis 7-5-2017
