Arc-lined Flower Moth   (two photos)
Schinia arcigera

schinia arcigera
This flower moth was so small it looked like a piece of rust clinging to the side of our chimney.
The color was so bright and bold - a beautiful moth!  Below is a side view of the same species but
taken in 2012.  Carol Davis 8-11-2014

schinia arcigera
I wish I could find my subjects so easily all the time. This beautiful flower moth was sitting on top of
my friend's car. Moths from the genus Schinia are very beautiful, almost butterfly-like, except for the
shaggy mane. Aster is
their host plant.  Carol Davis 9-6-2012
