Crambid Snout Moth
Pyrausta fodinalis

Pyrausta fodinalis
Just as I was leaving a trail in Wasatch Mountain State Park,
I saw this beautiful
moth land on some low vegetation.  The
larvae of this species have been known to feed on Coyote
Mint, according to Bugguide.
The plant it's sitting on may
actually be Mondarella odoiratissima, Mountain Coyote
(Nicky Davis's site). The leaves are
similar. © Carol Davis 7-8-
