Moth and the Robber Fly

Heliothis phloxiphagus
I was watching this lovely moth (possibly Heliothis phloxiphagus) flit from flower to flower on Antelope
Island when something flew in front of me and dropped to the ground. I looked back at the flower and the moth
was gone. I searched the ground and found this Robber Fly with my moth.  How rude!  Those Robber Flies
are lightning fast and can really ruin a moth's day. © Carol Davis 7-30-2013
