Philtraea utahensis
Family
Geometridae

white moth
I spotted something white on a bush and wasn't sure for a minute whether it was an insect or not. It
was tucked inside a bush so I had to do some finagling to get the photos. What a treat to find such

white moth with yellow and black stripes
Not much is known about these moths but they are very pretty. Most of the species
have been found in Southeastern Utah and, according to Bugguide.net and other
sources, they are quite rare in Colorado.
