Cellar Spider, Page 2  (two photos)
Pholcidae

cellar spider with long legs
Male Cellar Spider in Southern Utah.  This picture shows just how long the legs are on
these beauties and it makes them seem bigger than they really are.  It would be tough to scratch
your nose or brush your teeth with appendages as long as that.  © Carol Davis, 7-27-2008

cellar spider on Antelope Island
I was shocked to find this female cellar spider living
outside right next to black widows, nowhere near the inside of
a building where they are normally found.   This particular buggy spot was the perfect place for any spider seeking
regular meals. The photo proves that it is possible for the cellar spider to reach its mouth with the end of its
long leg. © Carol Davis, 8-8-2008
