When I took this photo in 2013 on Antelope Island, I
idea this tiny spider might be a new species for me. A while ago
(Jan. 2019), I came across it again and submitted it to
They told me it was a Cobweb Spider in
the genus Euryopis.
According to the Bugguide species page, this spider casts silk
entangle its prey and then proceeds to wrap it. I don't
the bigger Cellar Spider was doing with it.
Maybe they were just
hanging out in the shade to avoid the heat. © Carol Davis
