Cobweb Spider
Genus Euryopis
(possibly Californica or Formosa species)

Euryopis cobweb spider
When I took this photo in 2013 on Antelope Island, I had no
idea this tiny spider might be a new species for me. A while
ago
(Jan. 2019), I came across it again and submitted it to Bugguide.
They told me it
was a Cobweb Spider in the genus Euryopis.
According to the Bugguide species page, this spider casts silk to
entangle its prey and then proceeds to wrap it.  I don't know what
 the
bigger Cellar Spider was doing with it.  Maybe they were just
hanging out in the shade to avoid the heat. © Carol Davis 8-14-2013
