Dictyna
coloradensis (two photos)
"branch tip spider"

Dictyna coloradensis in her web at Bear
River
MBR. These spiders are everywhere but are very reclusive. I
was
really excited to see this one out and about. Someone needs to go
in their and tidy up her cupboard a bit.
I identified this spider from a photo on Rod
Crawford's site. Rod is a spider guru who works at the
Burke Museum in Seattle, Washington. The flash on my camera
washed out the spider but if you
look closely, you can see it. This shows the striped head
markings better. © Carol Davis, 5-24-2009
