Long-jawed Orb Weavers II
Family Tetragnathidae

long-jawed orb weaver at Payson Lakes, Utah

close up photo of a Tetragnatha
The legs on Tetragnatha are so long that when you first see them you think they're
something besides a spider.  This one is a male I found on a railing at Payson Lakes
on the Nebo Loop.  They are often found around water.  This last photo shows the eye
arrangement and the long jaws.  © Carol Davis, 7-6-2008
