Male Neoscona oaxacensis

male Neoscona oaxacensis
This day on Antelope Island was a little breezy - perfect for ballooning spiders. I hundreds of strands
across the bushes that were evidence of spiders on the move, but I didn't see many actual spiders. I was
just a little shocked at the size of this male Neoscona that was just hanging around on a Rabbitbrush
stem.
It's pretty late in the season to see one this size.  © Carol Davis 10-26-2016

male Neoscona in October
Besides this spider, I saw a female crab spider and a couple of Phidippus jumpers.  I consider that
a pretty good day for late October.  © Carol Davis 10-26-2016
