Jumping Spider  (three photos)
Phidippus johnsoni

I saw this tiny Phidippus johnsoni (from a distance) in Tooele County trying to balloon from the
top of a skinny dead plant and just had to
try to get her picture.  © Carol Davis 10-9-2016

Phidippus johnsoni
As my sister-in-law moved in for a close up, I tried for a telephoto and managed to get this cute pose.
I figure she decided she could partially hide by hanging upside-down. The whole time we were
photographing, the little female was shooting silk all over the place.  © Carol Davis 10-9-2016.

ballooning pose for young spider
This was the last pose I shot and I'm sure the jumper still thought she was hiding pretty well while waiting for
the right breeze to get the heck out of there.  We left her in peace. © Carol Davis 10-9-2016
